Avery,

In a typical Kawai, Yamaha grand you can remove the 3 flange screws that attach the tray to the belly via the "three wood blocks". You can then swing the tray out and come down through the strings to remove the "three wood blocks" w/flange. The flange at the back of the "wood block" is often the culprit if that is where the problem is coming from. With the disclavier, I'm not sure what will get in the way of the work?
