List, I'm about to embark on my first Bluthner restringing. Yes, it has the aliquot strings. :-( The piano is from 1910 and measures 6'4". I do not know enough about Bluthner to know if this instrument is the same as the current model 6. When I measured the strings as they came off, I noticed that the bridge marking was a half size larger than the string measurement. (ex: bridge said 20, string measured 19 1/2) I'm guessing that is due to the metric system measurement. Also, I noticed that a few of the strings did not have the correct diameter as was marked on the bridge. It was not apparent if the bridge markings are original or if the strings were original. The following is the size marked on the bridge: Notes Size 27-28 20 1/2 29-30 20 31-32 19 1/2 33-34 19 35-36 18 1/2 37-38 18 39-40 17 1/2 41-43 17 44-46 16 1/2 47-49 16 50-56 15 1/2 57-71 15 72-79 14 1/2 80-88 14 Might anyone have a scale for this piano they are willing to share? I have been thinking about trying the Parsons string scaling program. Anyone have experience with this program and can recommend it? Thanks, Don McKechnie
