This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Yeah, most of ours (and I'm sure there are more here than anywhere in the world) have the ends where those little pins go in intensely rebuilt with epoxy. They actually get rather strong with the addition of sturdy polymers. I like the overall design because they cover the whole Pinblock area and keep a little more dreck out. I don't think any music desk will survive being punched out by a frustrated student. =20 Eric =20 Eric Wolfley, RPT Supervising Piano Technician College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati =20 -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Jeff Tanner Sent: Monday, October 03, 2005 10:26 AM To: College and University Technicians Subject: Re: [CAUT] a bad habit?? =20 =20 On Sep 30, 2005, at 5:07 PM, Wolfley, Eric ((wolfleel)) wrote: Hey Jeff, get that music desk back in place as soon as possible. But it came in one day I was extremely busy and I just completely forgot it, then this thread reminded me. =20 These Baldwin music desks are a real pain. The way the hinge is made, the screws strip out really easily and the little thing that goes into the actual desk is only held in place by a thin layer of veneer. The least bit of pressure on the desk will tear them all to pieces. Constant repair issues. J ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
