I was at the SOM in Little Creek in 1972, and I know which pianos you're talking about. My piano instructor was a great teacher and performer-can't remember his name. One memory of the SOM was, as a keyboard player, was having to take bass drum lessons for marching band!!. I went to Brooklyn and was in the Long Island Sound with Mark Hammond, who I understand went on to be the big boss of the navy music program. Later went to Newport, RI-very rough duty!!! Loved most of my time as a navy musician.
