You might consider a "ventless" gas heater. I have a 25,000btu heater in
my shop that works well. It cost around $200.00. This puts moisture into
the air and keeps the room (550 sq ft) at about 60% humidity. Cautions
are that it is an open flame, it isn't approved for "living areas", it
does pump a lot of water into the air, and some heating companies won't
install them. Sounds awful, doesn't it? I love it.
