Hi, Avery, I've tuned a couple of newer studio KCs in the last few months. They caught my eye -- or should I say "ear" :) -- because they had a bit more resonance and depth than I was expecting. They were both quite bright tonally -- reminded me of the newer studio Samicks I just finished tuning at the local university. I'd say they were not bad pianos at all; not up to Yamaha, obviously, but probably decent for basic practice pianos, if that's what your professor is looking for.
