Avery, I don't know if this would be a quick cure for the piano in question but it worked on a 8 year old S&S D here at IC. There was a high pitched sound similar to what you described on the top note of the tenor section. I suspected it to be the agraffe after pushing down on the short string segment between the agraffe and the understring felt. For an experiment, I installed Pitch Lock couplers in that segment. After 4 couplers, problem cured. We'll see how long it lasts.
