Yes, a floor of 30% RH would make all the difference here. It would give the DC systems we have on our (relatively) stationary pianos a fighting chance while making it a significantly lesser chase to keep our sans-system performance pianos in tune and at pitch.

A seasonal variance, carefully controlled, of 30-60% would be a dream come true for probably most
of us, and would cost a lot less to run than a 35-45% year round system.
