Fred and List, Fred, thanks for your kind offer to make this text available. Bunger's book is the major published source on the subject. It serves as the basis for our video, "Non-Traditional Piano Use," a 30 minute primer that explores the extended sound world of the piano in ways that are piano-friendly. The video has the advantage of being rigorously scripted AND filmed. It is not the end-all, but IS a good introduction to the field. (Avaliable through the CalArts Piano Shop.) Be sure to stay tuned for a CAUT session in Rochester on just this subject. Be prepared (gues that's a pun, huh?) to share your own war stories and discuss this area with our colleagues. I photo-copied it. I thought I'd make a couple copies of my copy (which means I can just use the automatic feed on a copier, and do one sided to two-sided) so I would have an extra to lend to a student or whoever. It occurs to me others might like a copy as well. Please contact me off-list if you would. It's about 50 pages, and a good accounting of the practical issues (materials, how to place, etc.) I guess $5 would cover copying and mailing expenses.
