[CAUT] Fortepiano stability

Off hand I would say these unstable pianos are not strung properly or the cases poorly built.   You should not have instability under the conditions described by Jim.  If that is the case then there isn't much you can do before performance time.   Nor is there anything you can do about bangy players...in any venue.
