[CAUT] Piano Garage for Temperature & Humidity Control

Hi List,

We are building a small hall and the architects have included a
humidity-controlled storage room for the piano. While that might be
handy for longer-term storage, wouldn't a piano be more stable during
concerts if it were normally kept in the same ambient conditions under
which they will be performed on? I don't have any personal experience
with this, but I would imagine that taking a piano out of an "ideal"
environment into one that has substantially more or less relative
humidity (+/- 25% !) just hours before the concert would DEstabilize
it. Anyone out there have experience with this?

I built one and installed several Dampp Chaser Systems which has
worked very
well for ten years. I had a room built in another location which was
ten
times as expensive and doesn't work as well. If you find a pre fab
room I'd
be pleasantly surprised. You can call me at 570.236.9949.
