Yes I see I misread the dates a bit... thought it was in the same year.
But David I. asks the right question... when was the problem discovered
? In anycase, a replacement was supplied. And it isnt the usual type
of Steinway problem story we hear here.

Now how long did it take Clarence to discover the "horror"?
Think of the phone discussions, coffee with the Steinway
representative, sending of photos, deliberations, going to pick
out a new Steinway (they did do that, right?...hopefully with
their technician), delivery of the piano, etc. That can take
awhile...
