[CAUT] Insta-coiler

Hey list!

Does anyone out there routinely use the Sciortino Insta-coiler? I've 
had one for ten years or so and just started having a problem with 
it. After making the coil and removing the tool from the pin, I find 
the coil messy and on TOP of the beckett. I tried adjusting the 
collar to the sleeve and placing the pin with the hole aligned 
properly (I think) in the slot at the bottom. But to no avail. Anyone 
ever had this problem?

I've already checked for any hairline cracks in the threading area. 
It's not binding. It just feels like it wants to start flag-poling, 
like moving up instead of down. Make any sense?
