[CAUT] CAUT credential vs. academic program?

This is the sad truth... and exactly why I stand on my stance that if
CAUT is first going to do something along these lines... it simply has
to be worth its salt. Very demanding... Otherwise there is no chance
of overcoming the WISA truth of Jon Pages statement.

The certification has to represent a real tangible value to
universities... AND the organization is going to have to spend a lot of
time and effort proving that folks with this piece of paper can live up
to expectations. Bottom line for Universities is that they will pay
more only if they feel they are getting enough return. Which means
they have to in the end come out on top one way or the other. This
supposed <<CAUT>> person has to be enough of a draw that its worth their
while.

A tough task but a doable one if the political will amonst ourselves is
there.

Cheers

    CAUT Qualifications:
Willing to work for limited pay w/ benefits and become a minion of
    over-payed bureaucrats and whiny, pretentious academia;
early morning/late night/weekend work commensurate with the job.

Face it, the work sucks but that's where you want to be.

Aside from trying to 'pump-some-sunshine-up your-skirts' with
"extra credentials"; no one cares. And why would you want to
need more credentials to qualify for the same job? % ??

They'll pay what they pay as long as someone keeps filling the jobs.

Sorry guys but this thread is outliving its usefulness. It's a hard
    sell,
you'd do better trying to sell them a better potato chip.
