Fine emery cloth and double-side adhesive tape.

Klingspor has rolls of emery cloth. Your local hardware might
have a 3M tape product, it's 1/2" wide and is for installing plastic
sheets over windows for weather-proofing.

I just installed this on a rail, have been for years.

Where your Mylar will come in handy if for duplication back actions.
