How about going down through the rep slot behind the jack.
A wire with a 90 degree bend at the end to support the spring.
Then a 'step' placed further up at 90 degrees to the end 'hook'
so it can lock straight back onto the rep lever with the end
supporting the spring.

The first 'o' is the wire coming towards you, the last 'O' is a nifty handle.
