Actually, many insurance companies consider a car "totaled" if repair cost exceeds 75% of its value before damage. They have to keep insuring the vehicle after repair. A drastic repair is more likely to have more costs down the road. Considering the very long life (well, duration, anyway) of pianos in schools helps tip the balance. What a shame... --Cy-- ABQ, NM
