[CAUT] electronic tuning device preference?

Dearest list-

One thing that I haven't seen mentioned in the comparison and discussion
is the hardware, especially using a pda. I bought a Dell Axim for
running Verituner on, and although I really like Verituner, including
the VT-100 dedicated machine, I despise the Dell. I've had a number of
problems, some of which were sort of addressed by the company after many
calls to India. Its graphics are great, but that's where it wants to
put all its computing power, and there's not enough left to process the
sound signal. For the Dell, it's all about looking good. Also, I can
barely get through 1 pitch raise and tuning before the standard battery
is wiped out.

In contrast, we have hp iPAQs running pRCT here at CCM, and the machines
are as trouble-free as anything with electronics can be. If they clog
up, we do a soft-reset, and off you go for another few months. I think
RCT doesn't use as much juice during the tuning as VT, but the charge
lasts more than half a day on the standard battery.

John and all,

To help me answer this question put to me on several occasions and in
anticipation of more to come, I did a non-scientific study on four ETD
devises. The results are attached.

Just curious what ETD others prefer. I'm considering making a purchase
soon.

Thanks.
