It will be typical Korean quality...OK, but in several years? It's a 6'2" grand. The fellow at the church said they can buy it at $12,900. I have no idea what the retail is for such a beast, but it sounds like a good price. They would rather have a Yamaha, but the funding isn't there.... pw Cliff Lesher <lesher at dejazzd.com> Sent by: caut-bounces at ptg.org 03/19/2008 10:25 PM Please respond to College and University Technicians <caut at ptg.org> ToCollege and University Technicians <caut at ptg.org> cc SubjectRe: [CAUT] Sohmer (Korea) opinions When you mention Sohmer-Korea, you have to be a little more specific. There are two different Sohmer lines made in Korea: Samick makes them under license from the Burgetts. The fallboard says, "Sohmer & Co." Royale makes them, citing that the Burgetts' trademark expired. The fallboard says, "Sohmer." This, from Piano Book Supp. 2007-2008. What are your experiences with them? Positives and negatives? Thanks in advance! Paul T.
