[CAUT] Bass string question

I usually hang them up, but I am not sure if 1-2 months would make any difference.

  Hi All, 

  I'm rebuilding a "26 Steinway M and I just received my bass strings.  I'm not going to get to that part of it for some time(like a month or two). Question is; Is it bad for the strings to stay coiled up in the box, or should I get them out and hang them straight of lay them down straight? I usually get strings right when I need them and never thought about it until now.
