Paul,

Aaahh, the Liszt festival...

Many years ago it was in Madison, WI. I have great fond memories of
the musicians who
played and their very professional demeanor. The comments were all
helpful and stated in
a positive fashion. I predict you are in for a great technical and
musical experience.

Action regulation; One area that I have not seen mentioned which is
VERY important.
Take a few hours in your schedule and go over the action regulations
with a microscope.
I recommend that let-off and drop be set less than normal. Let-off
within 1/32 and drop less
than 1/32. Make double certain that each key has the same motion.
Aim for the very same
"FEEL" on each key and make it consistent throughout the keyboard.

I don't know what this treasured comment means exactly, but one
nervous nelly called the
regulation European. My translation is that there was no big bump
when let-off occurred.
The key stroke was smooth and for pianisssimmmo playing there was a
feel of control on
the entire movement of the key.

Hope you have as uplifting experience as I had. This is how you
improve your chops.
Joel
