What have you done in these situations?

Paul

Paul

This is another situation where people in charge do not understand our
world. My suggestion is to do exactly what is being asked of you, in the
time allotted. If anything goes wrong, or you are not given the time to
do the work, blame it on the person in charge.

Hi again, folks.

How often does this crap just "appear" in your schedules? (see below)
Lots of fun with Bernadette Peter's on that Friday during all of this!
I'm not so happy camper.

They require a grand piano delivered and tuned, etc. for the President
of the university's "thing". in two weeks. At least it wasn't
tomorrow!! What do these people think: a Grand piano in perfect shape
just "appears" ready to play???? This grand sits in the faculty lounge
and I don't see to it often...1911 Steinway A totally rebuilt 3 years
ago, but still not very stable.....

No need to check the rest of my story....only Bernadette Peters' first
visit to NE....The Univ President rules.....Does Moving Services have
time for this?,,,, nobody knows.......hard to reach.....
At least it's no the same piano!!! :>)

What have you done in these situations?

Paul

Re: Fw: Piano - UNL Visitor's Center

Paul and John,
We have a challenge for this event. That is also the day of the College
of Fine and Performing Arts Graduate Showcase. That event runs until
4:00 p.m. that day and takes every bit of the great hall for display.
After the event ends we then need to switch the room for the Varner Hall
dinner. We will be very short on space and may need to put the piano in
the Ross hallway a very short distance to where it can be rolled for the
evening event. I checked with Kathe Anderson to see if one of the grad
students in the showcase needed a piano unfortunately not the case. So
we need to work around the showcase to make this all work. Paul I would
like to visit with you more about options for getting you in for the
tuning and a time we can deliver. We could deliver on Wednesday March 9
during the day and then you could possibly tune after our EN Thompson
event in the evening which will conclude around 7:00 p.m. that will
probably be the only quiet time available before Thursday. We
can have Bob pick up the piano on Friday March 11.
Thanks

Fw: Piano - UNL Visitor's Center

Hello Annette,

I am the Piano Technician for the School of Music, and I have been
instructed to deliver a grand piano over to the Visitor's Center March
10th for an event for President Milliken.

I will need to coordinate timing with you and Bob Gier at Moving
Services for getting it in, and then out the next day. I will also need
to arrange with you some quiet time for me to tune the piano before the
event. I understand the timing will be challenging with some other event
there that morning.

Please let me know the room schedule over there at your earliest
convenience, so I can get the ball rolling over here.

Thanks so much!

Thank you, Michele.

Paul, please be certain to coordinate also with Annette Wetzel in all of
this, as I know there is an event in the Visitor's Center earlier in the
day that will make the move, set-up, and tuning a bit tight. Knowledge
is power, as Mark like to remind us.

Piano - UNL Visitor's Center

Paul:

We will need to move a piano to the UNL Visitor's Center for a March
10th event from President Milliken's Office. Dr. Richmond would like to
use the piano in room 107. Please work with Bob in Moving Services to
get the piano moved there and returned to Westbrook. When you have
information I'll get a requisition together for Bob. The President's
office is paying for the move, a tuning at the Visitor's Center and a
tuning when the instrument returns to Westbrook.

Mark: Please make sure there are no events in room 107 which would
require the piano for this period.

You do what you can with what you've been given. Tune it, move on and
bill
accordingly.
