In response to my question about a protocol for messages, Ron asked whether we
should have an editor. That's not what I had in mind, nor do I think it's
necessary. I brought up the subject of message content because the discussion of
public access to this forum indicated a strong desire to keep the focus on
technical and issue-oriented topics of interest to piano technicians. Also, Jack
Reeves said something to the effect that the existence of this forum was
predicated on its being an educational medium for technicians.

If that is the case, then it seems to me that we should all be aware of the
official purpose of the forum, who was responsible for setting it up, etc. so we
don't inadvertantly take it off track. If the C&U Technicians have no problem
with the forum being completely free form, then a "statement of purpose" may not
be necessary.
And just to show that I'm not a spoil sport, do you all know how many piano
technicians it takes to change a light bulb? Answer: One to change it and ten
others to tell how they would do it differently!
