It's true that Del Fandrich has stopped making Fandrich uprights
for now. He and Larry Graddy are rebuilding pianos in Hoquiam, WA under
the name "Northwest Piano Builders." They feature, among other things, a
complete Steinway B makeover, with soundboard modifications, re-scaling,
and Abel hammers, which they call the "Killer B."
Darrell Fandrich, on the other hand, owns a store in Seattle, and is
retro-fitting German and Asian (new) pianos with the Fandrich vertical
action.
