RE: Confessions from a closet contemporary I agree with David Stanwood that non-traditional use of the piano can be artistic and not injurious to the piano. I have become (in my, ahem, latter years) a George Crumb fan. I find pieces like his "Voices of the Whales", scored for piano, flute, and cello very romantic in its conception and hauntingly beautiful. Ken Sloane
