Whoa John!

Which is it gonna be? You said Pianotech. Is this in fact Pianotek? If
so, I've never seen *anything* cheap from them. Then you mention
preferring a dial type. I find only two gauges from Pianotek, and both
are dial types, with just the gram ratings being different -- and not
what I'd consider cheap.

Is it possible you were referring to the spring tension gauge from
APSCO? That could be considered relatively 'cheap' by comparison. Or,
maybe you have a different catalog than mine.

If I may make a suggestion, invest in a tension gauge to check the tightness
of the pinning rather than relying on the swing test. I have a fairly cheap
one from Pianotech and it works reasonably well although I prefer the dial
type.
