Prepared Piano

We have one piano that has been designated the "prepared piano" piano.
It is a Baldwin SF-10. It has one advantage over the Steinway "D"s in
that it doesn't have the cross brace over the tenor section. Our
Contemporary music ensemble, which does most of the "prepared piano"
music is happy with the instrument and all is well. Composition
students are more of a problem since they often don't ask, they just
do. The faculty has been supportive of reserving a particular piano
for this specialized use. Of course they are painfully aware of our
budget restrictions and don't want to have to do any unnecessary repair
on the concert instruments.
