The plate is fitted into the keyblock. You can put spacers (a thickness or 2
of buisness card stock is usually sufficient). above the plate in the cutout
of the block. Usually there is enough play to make redrilling the screws
unnecessary, but redrilling is not hard. If the plate protrudes below the
block just file it off. DO NOT lower the plate more than necessary.
