Broken bottom board on Upright

Chris,
I would use poplar, and as far as a template goes, I would clamp the
old one on top of the new one and drill through the old holes until
you reach the new wood, so in that way you may mark the new board.
Think through what you need to do, estimate the time you think it
will take, then double it and you should be ok.
