James,

It is my understanding that the long bridges for these pianos are trimmed,
notched and pinned by machine prior to being mounted on the soundboard. It
is easier to program CNC machinery to use the same pattern throughout the
whole bridge.

Thanks for the replies.
If that is true for the different scales Yamaha uses are there only 1 or
several bridges they use for all their sizes of verticals?  It seems that
using 1 standard bridge would upset their scaling for the different sizes
of pianos.  Is that true?
