Dear Jim,

I attended the last part of your tune-off in Orlando, around the time when
you and Virgil started playing musical selections on the pianos. Here were
my observations while standing in the middle of the auditorium behind the
seated gallery:

The "A & D" pianos sounded much fuller and richer than the "B & C" pianos
before and after the move. After the move the "B" piano actually seemed to
gain some fullness and richness, while the "A & D" pianos seemed to decline
a little in those qualities. The "C" piano never seemed to have any
quality of sound before or after the move. During all of this the D piano
seemed to be just a shade more noticeable in fullness and richness than the
"A" piano.

I was very impressed with the reality of this event, the time required of
you and Virgil, and the pianos supplied to make this happen. You and the
others involved are to be commended for providing a most unique moment in
piano history.

Thank you for being,
