Larry,

	I find that lighter fluid (Ronsons, etc) is the easiest, cleanest
solvent for these types of messes. I've used it on plastic and  ivory
keys and polyester case finishes, and it removes caked-on gum and evaporates
quickly. Smoking while doing this opeartion is heavily discouraged!
Keep this stuff away from ebony sharps and other finished surfaces
that will react with the fluid, although I've found it
evaporates so quickly that this is rarely a concern.
