Walter,
You're definately right! I oversimplified it! In Mozart and other
delicate classical music, a bright obnoxious piano can be a liability to
the pianist making it hard to control and get soft tones, especially if
it's uneven. Voicing corrects this allowing the pianist to play
lighter, thus an "easier action." On the other hand, with brilliant
romantic music such as Chopin and Liszt, if the brightness needed is not
there, pianists will kill themselves trying to get it.- then complain
the action is too heavy. Your right, it's definately complicated.
