Dear List (second try), I have recently "Discovered" a Piano Expert of the 1st Order (a very occasional poster to this list) and believe that it is in the interests of the FUTURE of the Piano that members pay some attention to this experts situation. Very briefly Dr. Galembo is an Accoustician who has specialised in Piano Acoustics most of his professional life. His work has included perceptual aspects to music and I have the impression that his passion for the whole musical phenomena is deserving of every encouragement that can be afforded him. He is due to leave his 2 year posting in Ontario, Canada, within the next 2~3 weeks and is required to return to St. Petersburg, Russia with his wife and daughter. There is NO prospect of employment for him in Russia since the piano manufacturing industry there has collapsed together with most of the economy and academic research projects. It is the writer's most sincere opinion that it may be a great loss to the Piano and Musical World if this man's qualifications are NOT put to good use and I hope that someone on the list, or connected with you personally or professionally can offer Dr. Galembo some work. I recommend that you all take a look at Dr. Galembo's WWW below (a veritable goldmine of research information that I never dreamed existed) and appeal for you to direct your communications and/or words of encouragement to him by e-mail. My appologies if any of you have already received it.
