Physical therapists need a degree...I think now they must have a Masters in physical therapy to enter the field. Massage therapists in Virginia take a 9 month ( I'm not sure about the length) certificate program. To get the services of a physical therapists, you need a physician's referral. Anyone can go to a message therapist. Phisical therapists are usually involved in rehabilitation. I my view, massage therapists are mostly feel good stuff along with stress reduction...not a bad thing, but a $60 a session, definitely a yupppie kind of thing. Oh yeah...I never did like the RPT designation for piano techs...just because it was already in use. But I have too many other things to worry about to lose sleep over it. -- Frank Cahill Associate Member Northern Va
