You have singing aliquots, the segment of string from the back bridge pin to the little riser (aliquot) in front of the hitch pin. Take a fresh roll of electrical tape to the piano and mute out those strings. If the problem persists then look to see that the bass strings have string braid muting the waste segments of the strings. If not braid them silent. Also the lower middle section should be similarly muted. If the problem is solved you can remove the tape one unison at a time and listen. When the obnoxious ones jump out make a note of the note and later you can braid the offenders to silence. You can also buy a tool for moving the aliquots to tune or detune them as you please. Don Franklyn sells the tools which are advertised in the classified section of the Journals. This is not an unusual problem. Hope this help. Newton nhunt@jagat.com
