Not completely accurate. While the ConcertMasters are factory installed, they
can also be retrofitted by a local, certified tech IF they are installed
exclusively in Baldwin lines, in other words Baldwin, Chickering, and
Wurlitzer.

Also, there was a long time that Disklavier had the performance edge on
PianoDisc, but since the introduction of PianoDisc's Silent Drive system, they
have for all intents and puposes closed the gap with Disklavier. With flash
ram, any tech can update the PianoDisc with the latest features in about a
minute. No system plays as quietly without note dropout as PianoDisc, and
every player tech knows that the most important feature to a customer is quiet
playback. As far as one size fits all, nothing could be farther from the
truth. After an installation is completed, the tech procedes through about a
dozen system regulation steps that teach the system how to play this
particular piano. Not just the general action type of the piano, but the
signal for each key solenoid is programmed according to every friction and
touchweight nuance of each individual note, giving a very even performance
over the entire scale.

Also, if a college already has suitable pianos, a PianoDisc retrofit would
represent a tremendous savings over Disklavier.
