Hi James: The M&H was definitely a better and different scale from the Knabe or the Chickering in the older days. At the very end,Aeolian made changes in the Knabe and chickering to keep their scales the same. Until the Knight piano came out the M&H console was the best on the market. At one time the Chickering had a full size drop action. That was very good. The scale was clean. As far as consoles go, that was worthy of the name Chickering. Jim Coleman, Sr.
