Noisy keys

Three year old Baldwin Hamilton. Customer complained of "noisy keys".
Traced the noise (woody sound when the key returns to rest position) to
balance rail. I haven't yet removed the keys and checked the adjustment
and hold down screws, but just feeling the balance rail, it seemed to be
seated firmly. As a test, I placed a cardboard front rail punching (it
was the only thing I had with me at the time) between one of the keys
and and the balance rail - it stopped the noise (for that key).

I appreciate any tips for things to look for.
