Ed, Oooo! Oooo! you just reminded me of something that I was going to post. A while back some one asked about how to remove bridge pins and the idea of using vice grips with a long bolt and a weight came up. Just for fun I took my regular 6" vice grips and adapted a 6' quarter inch bolt, ( standard thread grind the first 1/4 inch to mach the old adjustment screw) with the weight from my Mahaffy coil tightener. This resulted in the perfect tool for removing ANY tight action easily Try it you will like it. Joe Goss You know you are on the level if your bubble is in the middle ---------- > From: Ed Guerra <edguerra@mail.utexas.edu> > To: pianotech@ptg.org > Subject: Re: squeak/groan UST-7 > Date: Monday, November 02, 1998 1:44 PM > > You might check the bottom board and tighten all screws, or if you can't > place shims in order to keep it from moving.
