Is this an open list ?????

I am confused here.  Is this an open list or not?  Jory may have been
articulate and even helpful to some.  I read a weeks worth of arguments on
whether sound cancels ... goes away ... or still harms ears with certain
devices.  I have bought hearing protectors at a steep price and would have
weighed in on the subject but felt it was being handled by all.
I chose a helpful response to use as an example on purpose.  Others stated to
non techs to go to other lists and were not questioned.  I just want to know
who are experienced piano techs and who are not.  If someone comes on the list
and declares they are not a tech, I say they should watch and keep silent.  If
they wish to privately e-mail any or all, then that is up to them.  I don't
want the list to let the list be filled with non techs responding to tech
questions.  I feel the reason we may start to see a slow down on the list is
because good techs are leaving or sadly have already gone.  I know of two well
respected techs that used to be here and would never come back because of
this.

How do you all feel?  Am I off base here?
