Whoa there, Mr. Caster Cup, I'm not getting in the middle of the Petrof discussion, since I too happen to like the revenue generated from picky customers who would like to buy "the rest of their piano" -- in whatever form that represents. However, I am wondering whether you might have shot yourself in the foot with the analogy below? After purchase, do you not adjust your bandsaw? Do you not check for run-out, or perhaps balance the wheels? Do you not check that your table saw blade is 90-degrees to the table? Did you not spend quite a while getting your radial arm tweaked to perfection? Do you not periodically recheck your lathe for accuracy? You get the idea. I'm sure you do these things and more. The difference being, a consumer can (hopefully) do these things. A piano is a different story.
