Yes, if not very carefully.  I suppose that some fort of resistor could be put
into the line outputs to tone down the short-out heat, but it is not something
that I really know how to do. Sometimes the right amount of treatment for a
centerpin is a fraction of a second. That is why it is hard to control. 

Electrical suggestions anyone?
