Wouldn't the breaker kick off? OH, NO! Breakers are slow devices. They offer NO protection against electrocution Ground fault interupters trip many, many times faster. In fact, in this county, when remodeling or building new kithens, all outlets within 6 ft of the sink MUST be protected by a ground fault interrupter. The event that current is shorted to ground, these devices open to stop current flow. They are very sensitive and quick devices. > 2. It's only 110 volts you're plugged into. The kicks you got were relatively harmless ONLY because current flow was through your fingers. If you had current flow from one hand to the other or from one hand to a foot, you would not be here today!!!
