Dear Les,
    Sounds to me like the "Good Reverend" is puttin' the squeeze on ya about
the "in use" time at the auditorium. The management of the auditorium is
likely charging by the day while the pianos are on the stage and your being
there probably has nothing to do with it. The Rev's concern that you will need
four additional hours of tuning prior to the performance may be somewhat
justified in that the pianos will not likely drift that much as a whole due to
your prior prep for rehersal.
A quick scan of the pianos may be all that is needed just before the
performance and the Rev likely doesn't feel comfortable with being charged for
four more complete tunings. 
     My experience with multiple pianos used on one stage for simultaneous
performance is that picking one scale of the lot and tuning the rest to it is
the most effective method of success in this case...(IMHO)
This is where the Sanderson Accu Tuner is a REAL GEM!!!!!!
