The Zwicke...ah yes, and wasn't it fun to tune? I actually had three of these critters back when I was in private practice. If I thought of it as if it were a grand, - I should say here I hold my hammer in the right hand on grands (and Zwickes) - & with a little practice, I got pretty good at them. I was always grateful they didn't have a full 88 note keyboard, though. You can only have just so much fun in on day. Actually, one of my longest days included a Bluthner in the morning, and two Zwicke spinets after that, one of which was a pitch raise. It was a vertical piano that had the pinblock on TOP of the frame. I lifted up the lid, and found the pins standing upright. It was like tuning a grand, with the tuning lever handle facing me. I had never run into a piano like that before. Has anyone ever seen a piano like that before? ---------------------------------------------------------------- KeyTeck Ben Wood databytes@juno.com "If ya can't tune it, spinet" --------------------------------------------------------------- _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
