Soundboard backposts ??

Reportedly Italian harpsichords that have ribs crossing underneath the bridge have
dead notes at the intersections, whether or not they are undercut at the
intersection. An upright I dismantled had corks wedged between the board and
backposts which turned out to have been done years ago by my colleague instead of
scrapping it, though I didn't notice until I popped the frame.
