The "piano scarves' I've seen (many yrs ago in my youth) were big shawls, which
were popular attire in the 20's, with brocade etc. and fringe - looking very
stylish on a grand after they were out of fashion to wear. I can't imagine
where you'd get one now - an old clothes store in some large city? I often
cover grands awaiting restoring in my upstairs shop-studio with an old kilim
rug - they're lightweight and look good, since that's where my customers come
and try instruments out - protects and conceals extra instruments. Snazier
than those backstage canvas covers.
