Jere, The piano was designed for 435, but these old Chickering uprights, which often had fabulous cabinets, were often very sick in the pinblock. And, the strings will be fragile. Also, since Chickering was always reinventing the piano, the Lord only knows what action you will find inside. Make sure you have extra time, and can tie knots in strings. If things are healthy enough, you may be very pleased with the sound in the old box. An 'alert' mover in our area junked a lot of old Chickerings 20 - 30 years ago because they wouldn't hold a tune.
