Transformer Heat

Hi all,

The new transformer from PianoDisc draws air past the fan and out the
heatsinks. This would mean that the air between the soundboard and the
power supply is being sucked through the power supply and out through the
heat sink fins on the bottom side of the power supply (on grands)
dissapating the accumulated heat, I would think, harmlessly over a much
larger area.

The older power supply found on later PDS 32's and a bunch of 128's had a
fan that would also draw air into the power supply away from the soundboard.
The metal box was not in any way sealed and so I would assume that the air
would be forced out the corners and other places. Once again, I would
assume that this is a pretty harmless amount of heat being dispersed.

SUMMARY

PianoDisc power supplies really SUCK!!
The amount of heat generated is not that much when dissapated over a
relatively large area.
When there's foam filling in the cavities under the piano, air is drawn past
the pedal solenoid through the power supply and then out the cracks and
crevasses of the power supply. KEWL!!
